Recreational Services History Walk

What started as a dedication to the history of NIRSA (the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association) became a full History Walk that now includes the history of the Kent State Department of Recreational Services as well as the history of the Marketing department’s current home, the Beverly J. Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center. These semi-permanent displays were unveiled February 21, 2020 at the SRWC’s NIRSA National Recreation Sports & Fitness Day Celebration.

It was an honor to be able to lead the design of such an impactful project, and I couldn’t have done it without my research team, JoBeth Wyatt and Cheyenne Brown, and the support of our Marketing Coordinator, Jim Kraus.

*The posters are intentionally displayed in reverse order, due to the direction you enter this hallway from the mall area.
